Specialized Services

STAT Heart Program

Harrisburg Medical Center has developed protocols, in association with the STAT heart program through the Prairie Heart Group and Memorial Hospital of Carbondale, in order to ensure that patients suffering from certain types of heart attacks receive interventional therapy within 90 minutes.

Stroke Program

Harrisburg Medical Center’s Stroke Program is affiliated with St. Louis University Hospital’s (SLUH) Stroke Program. Our physicians have access to proven SLUH neurologists who are on call 24 hours a day, 7 day a week to discuss patient care. We are also able to transmit CT scans to these neurologists and have an agreement to transport our patients to SLUH for additional treatment options, if necessary.

Hospitalist Program

The hospitalists of Harrisburg Medical Center provide compassionate and timely healthcare to patients who are hospitalized. As medical professionals who specialize in the care of hospitalized patients, the Harrisburg Medical Center hospitalists work with primary care doctors and specialists to provide the highest standard of care during the hospital stay. The benefits of our Hospitalist Program at Harrisburg Medical Center are many. In addition to receiving well organized, seamless, and up-to-the-minute care, patients can count on our Hospitalist Providers to be highly skilled and available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
