About Us
Proven Health Care For Southeastern Illinois Patients
HMC Clinic at Harrisburg and HMC Clinic at Marion was established in 2003 when James O. Alexander, MD, obtained the practice from a retiring Dr. Schaede. Dr. Alexander had returned to Harrisburg to practice in 1991 and went on his own in 1997. Applying his years of independent and associated practice experience, and adding a physician’s assistant, Dr. Alexander opened HMC Clinic at Harrisburg and Marion to new patients. Loni Banks, nurse practitioner, joined the team in 2010.
Harrisburg Medical Center acquired the practice in 2012. Today, the HMC Clinic has two locations – in Marion, Illinois and Harrisburg, Illinois. Our lab is CLIA and Joint Commission certified and we perform in-house testing that includes CBC, hemoglobin, A1C, mono, strep and pregnancy. X-ray services available at HMC Clinic at Harrisburg on sight and X-ray services at HMC Clinic at Marion are available through Open MRI Center.
